Philosophy and Approach
My therapeutic approach is eclectic and holistic in nature. I draw upon many therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, as well as Mindfulness-based practices. I respect and honor the differences between us all, and hence I tailor my treatment to each person’s specific needs and desires. My practice is LGBTQ friendly and welcoming to individuals of all cultures, ethnicities and races. In therapy, I strive to be a rock for my clients while creating a safe, nonjudgmental space for them to feel comfortable being open and vulnerable.
The therapeutic fit and relationship is very important to achieving success, therefore, I invite clients to express any concerns they may have, so that together we can work towards finding a solution (whether that look like my adjusting my approach or my helping one find another provider who may be a better fit). I believe in the power of therapy and self-exploration and so I will always empower individuals to find the best approach and fit for their needs.
